Our story began in 2010 when my wife Prudence and I were looking into properties in the area to open a restaurant. We knew that there was a need for some good, affordable and diverse food options. Nothing materialized for quite some time for us but we didn’t quit looking. Fortunately,  we came across an ad stating that they were looking for someone to place a food truck right on the same property of our favorite ice cream location in Coxsackie NY.  We inquired about it and provided our vision to the owner. We wrote that we wanted to bring fresh, flavorful, and affordable food to the area. The owner loved it and agreed to rent the spot to us. We now had to purchase a food truck and go through the process of starting a food service business for our very first time. We promised each other that we would go after it aggressively but at the same time we felt that if we were ever forcing things, we would not proceed. Fortunately, things went smoothly. We wound up having our Grand Opening on May 20th of 2017. It was an Amazing day!  We recently completed our first full season at the location and thanks to the tremendous support of everyone,  the season was a Great success !  We are excited and so looking forward to reopening in the spring of 2018 at the same location. Due to demand,  we are currently providing catering services throughout the Fall and Winter as well.  We are so grateful to all of our supporters and have really enjoyed building relationships with the folks in our community. See you all next Spring. Thank you.

It’s now 2023! With six successful seasons under our belt we’re looking forward to opening again in April! Many things have changed over the years as we have grown the business including the sudden loss of my business partner, my best friend and my husband Rafael Peterson in January of 2022. His dedication to the community and the business will never be forgotten! His legacy continues on in the amazing recipes he left us all. His charming personality and deep care for what he did and the community has made Savory Side what it is today. We will forever be grateful for him and his mark he left on all of us. We hope to do him proud as he looks down upon us all. As we begin year seven with the food tuck and year six with Sweet Side Ice Cream we are looking forward to trying new specials and getting back to serving the community that we have grown to love with all out heart. Onward and upward!
